Veteran thanks Newfield Township board for memorial garden.

I am the Army veteran that started the Veteran’s Memorial Garden at Hightower Lake Park and Boat Launch. I was visiting my parents and had just gotten notification that one of my army buddies had been killed. My parents and I talked about it, and it was then that the Veteran’s Memorial Garden was established. I always thought I would make it back for a visit to thank Newfield Township Board in person for allowing us to put it near the park for all to enjoy, but I became ill and to date, have not made it back for a visit. I now have hopes of returning. During my illness, my army buddies contributed bushes, flowers and signage. My Mom sent everyone photos of its progress.

None of this could have ever taken place if it were not for the caring people who allowed my dream to come true. Thank you, Newfield Township Board. Your kindest meant the world to me.
