Asparagus festival parade canceled, but queen pageant still a go.

HART — The 2021 National Asparagus Festival will not include the popular Joan Glover Royale Parade due to COVID-19, but there will still be an Asparagus Queen Pageant.

A post on the organization’s Facebook page states the following:

“The NAF board met and discussed all aspects of potential events and risks of planning an event with current Covid restrictions and has decided to ONLY move forward with the following events:

*Ryan Walsworth Spear It 5K (which has virtual and in-person options to attend)

*Asparagus Queens Pageant!

Stay tuned for more details on the pageant but be sure to save the date of June 5!

Stay Healthy, Eat Asparagus and support your local businesses!”

Last year, the National Asparagus Festival was canceled due to COVID-19. It would have been the 47th annual event.
