Motorcyclist avoids serious injury after colliding with deer.

LEAVITT TOWNSHIP — A 41-year-old Walkerville man avoided serious injury after the motorcycle he was riding collided with a deer on 198th Avenue Tuesday, July 19, at 10:30 p.m., said Lt. Shane Hasty of the Oceana County Sheriff’s Office.

The motorcyclist, who was wearing a helmet, suffered some road rash and a cut on his head, said Hasty. A friend transported him to Spectrum Health Gerber Memorial in Fremont for treatment.

  • 2:45 p.m., (OCSO), a 32-year-old Fremont man was arrested for violating a personal protection order, East Roosevelt Road, Greenwood Township.

Sunday, July 17, 2022:

  • 10:30 a.m., (OCSO), a 53-year-old Hart man was arrested for violating a bond condition, West Tyler Road, Hart Township.

Monday, July 18, 2022:

  • 8:30 p.m., (OCSO), a 29-year-old Kalamazoo woman was arrested for second-offense operating while intoxicated, East Ferry Street, Ferry Township.
