Obituary: Mary Camargo, 89, of Hart.

Mary Celestra Camargo, 89, of Hart, passed away Monday, June 7, 2021, surrounded by her loving family. She was born July 2, 1931, in Nashville, Tennessee, the daughter of William and Mary (Rush) Flatt.

Mary married Pedro Camargo on January 27, 1950, in Detroit. They had 13 children and were married 66 years, until Pedro went home to Heaven on October 26, 2016. 

Mary loved to work; she worked for Michigan FreezePack up until the day she retired. She had many passions in life, including music, dancing, watching her favorite shows, and movies. She and Pedro loved to travel wherever the roads would take them. Even though she didn’t know the ins and outs of football, she loved to watch her Detroit Lions and Michigan Wolverines. GO BLUE!! Mary loved to talk, and she loved meeting new people and getting to know them. Mary’s true love in life was her husband and family, which she loved fiercely. 

Mary is survived by her daughters, Candy (Joe) Sarazin , Bernice Trevino, Cecilia Camargo, Helen (David) Towne, Frances Fawley, and Lupe (Scott) Broner; sons, Vincent (Mary) Camargo, Johnny Camargo, and Tony (Krystal) Camargo; daughter-in-law, Cindy Camargo; and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. 

Mary was preceded in death by her parents, William and Mary (Rush) Flatt; husband, Pedro Camargo Sr; sons , Paul Camargo, Pedro Camargo Jr., and baby Antonio Camargo; daughter, Virginia Camargo; son-in-law, Dave Fawley; granddaughters, Kelly Camargo and Tonia Sarazin; sister-in-law, Francesca Contreras; brothers-in-law, Johnny Camargo, Paul (Mary) Camargo, and Vincent (Victoria) Camargo.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m., Saturday, June 12, 2021, at Saint Joseph Catholic Church, 2380 West Jackson Road, Hart, MI 49420, with Fr. Phillip Sliwinski presiding. Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m., Friday, June 11, 2021, at Beacon Cremation & Funeral Service, King-Hart Chapel, 2370 North 72nd, Avenue, Hart, and Saturday, from 10 a.m., until time of services at the church. Interment will follow in Hart Cemetery.
