Sen. Bumstead pays special tribute to sheriff’s office.

HART — Sen. Jon Bumstead (R-Fremont) presented Oceana County Sheriff Craig Mast with a “Special Tribute” to the Oceana County Sheriff’s Office Wednesday, July 29.

“Let it be known that it is with great privilege to recognize Oceana County Sheriff’s Office for their service to the community,” the tribute states. “The courage and protection that you bring to the area is appreciated and recognized. Serving as a member of law enforcement is a great honor and a title that brings pride to families in the community.

“The members of this profession are ever aware of the dangers they face, but excellent police officers are strongly motivated by commitment to protecting the safety of others. Protecting justly and serving diligently, members of Oceana County Sheriff’s Office dedicate countless hours into running this department. Your commitment and service are greatly appreciated by all those that you protect each day. Representing a sense of security and safety, members of the community look to you for support and protection. We appreciate the sacrifices that are made by every police officer to ensure of the protection of people in our community.

“In special tribute, therefore, this document is signed and dedicated to honor Oceana County Sheriff’s Office on the outstanding service and dedication to their community. We applaud their courage and wish them continued success.”

Bumstead represents the 34th District, which includes Oceana, Newaygo and Muskegon counties.
