Obituary: Jeffery Eric Freese, 58, of Marshall.

Jeffery Eric Freese, 58, of Marshall, passed away suddenly on Friday, March 20, 2020. Jeff was born on December 13, 1961 in Hart, the son of the late Norval “Gene” and Marva (Paulsen) Freese. He graduated from Pentwater High School and attended Ferris State University.

He served his country in the United States Navy for four years. While in the Navy, he was stationed in Antiqua as an E-3 Radioman. He worked as a journeyman electrician for various companies, including Prince Corporation/Johnson Controls, Lear in Grand Rapids, Sealed Air/Cryovac Maintenance. As a journeyman electrician he had earned the Sigma Black Belt Certification.

Jeff was a “huge” University of Michigan sports fan, especially of the football team. He was a proud supporter of Special Olympics and volunteered with Special Olympics in Oceana County and with the Holland volleyball team.

He loved all animals, especially his beloved horse Dixie, who he lost at the age of 20 years on December 10, 2019. He was united in marriage with Theresa A. (Leece) Freese on January 7, 1995. Jeff and Theresa met on Mackinac Island, working for the Carriage Tour Company.

He is survived by his loving wife Theresa; siblings, Clark (Sally) Freese, Rob Freese, Brent (Yong) Freese, his twin sister, Julie (Dennis) Dufon, Tim (Robin) Freese, and Paula (Larry) Meyer; his mother-in-law, Linda Leece; many nieces, nephews in-laws, and friends. He will also be sadly missed by his two dogs, four cats, and three goats.

A private memorial service will be held at Kempf Family Funeral and Cremation Services, 723 US Hwy, 27 N, Marshall, MI, 49068. Memorial contributions may be given to Reality’s Chance Sanctuary or the Humane Society of South Central Michigan .
