Mears woman suffers minor injuries when car, gas truck collide.

SHELBY TOWNSHIP – A 27-year-old Mears woman suffered minor injuries after the car she was driving crashed into a Westgate gas truck on Oceana Drive about a mile south of Grant Road Monday, Nov. 11, at 8 p.m., according to an Oceana County Sheriff’s Office accident report.

The woman’s 8-year-old daughter who was a passenger in her 2006 car was not injured nor was the semi truck driver, who is a 29-year-old Muskegon man.

The woman told the investigating deputy that she lost control of her vehicle in the snowy conditions. It crossed the center line spinning in a circle into the path of the southbound semi truck, the report states.

The truck was carrying a full load of gasoline and was unable to stop due to the road conditions, striking her vehicle on the driver’s side door.

The woman suffered minor injuries to her face and was transported by Life EMS to Mercy Health Partners Lakeshore Campus in Shelby.
