Fall Cleanup Day.

SHELBY – Fall Cleanup Day for Shelby village and township residents is set for Saturday, Oct. 19, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Shelby Village Rail Trail pavilion parking lot.

Get rid of the junk before the snow falls.

Items accepted include: old appliances, lawn mowers, sheet metal, metal barrels (open on one end), aluminum and copper wire, lawn chairs, bicycles, bed springs, mattresses, fencing, siding, furniture, couches, carpet, roof materials, cardboard and miscellaneous household items.

Items not accepted include: hazardous waste, yard waste, containers with liquid such as old paint cans, gas tanks, propane tanks, batteries, cars and tires.

Those dropping off junk must show a driver’s license or tax bill to prove they are residents. Be prepared to unload your own items, and children and dogs are not allowed out of the vehicles.
