September hunter education class registration now open.

LOGAN TOWNSHIP (Mason County) — Hunter Education of Oceana County has opened registration for its September class to be held Saturday, Sept. 7 and Sunday, Sept. 8 at the Ruby Creek Conservation Club, 8152 E. Washington Road.

Students must attend both days from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. and must bring a sack lunch both days. Students ages 10 and younger must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. The class is free but pre-registration is required. Upon completion, students will receive a certificate.

Study materials may be picked up at the Ruby Creek Store or the Oceana County Sheriff’s Office in Hart. The class is an “accelerated” class and students are encouraged to work on study materials at least two weeks in advance.

For questions, contact Oceana County Sheriff Deputy Dean Wiegand at wiegandd@oceanasheriff.net. If ADA compliant accommodations are needed, Dep. Wiegand must be notified 10 days in advance of the class.

Register here and navigate to “recreational education.” Class is limited to 30 students.
