Village of Shelby: Notice of Adoption

TO:  ALL PERSONS INTERESTED

Please take notice that on March 11, 2019, the Village Board of the Village of Shelby amended Part Six (General Offense Code), Chapter 680 (Blight Prevention and Elimination Ordinance) of the Village of Shelby Code, summarized as follows:

Section 1 establishes the purpose of the ordinance.

Section 2 defines the terms “Blighted Structure”, “Building Material”, “Enforcement Officer”, “Junk”, “Garbage”, “Person”, and “Unsecured Vacant Building” as used within the ordinance.

Section 3 explains what acts are prohibited by the ordinance.

Section 4 explains the powers the Village has to enforce the ordinance.

Section 5 establishes that a violation of the ordinance is a civil infraction.

Section 6 establishes that the ordinance, as a whole and section by section, is severable.

Copies of the ordinance may be viewed and purchased at reasonable cost at the Office of the Village Clerk in the Village Hall, 218 N. Michigan Avenue, Shelby, Michigan, during regular business hours.

This ordinance amendment is effective ten (10) days from the date of this publication.
