78th District Court sentencings.

HART – The following were sentenced recently in 78th District Court:

– Corey Alexander Sumerix, 26, of 2584 E. Monroe Rd., White Cloud, was found guilty Oct. 22 of fourth-degree child abuse and was sentenced to 15 days in jail; one year discretionary jail for one year; six months probation; may not purchase/possess a firearm; subject to testing, counseling and searches by probation officer; no drugs; and $975 in fines and costs. One count of third-degree child abuse was dismissed.

– Brandon Lee Chase, 39, of 93 E. Ferry St., Shelby, pleaded “no contest” Nov. 27 to disorderly person – jostling and was sentenced to 90 days discretionary jail for one year and $125 in fines and costs. One count of domestic violence was dismissed.

– Suante G. Davis, 43, of 466 Glen Oaks, Muskegon, was found guilty Nov. 29 of allowing a person to drive in violation and was sentenced to 90 days discretionary jail for one year and $290 in fines and costs. One count of driving while license suspended (DWLS) dismissed.

– Laura Leigh Hammond, 48, of 5770 W. Fox Rd., Mears, was found guilty Nov. 29 of allowing a person to drive in violation and was sentenced to 90 days discretionary jail for one year and $290 in fines and costs. One count of operating without insurance was dismissed.

– Thomas Lee Bean, 68, of 4820 S. 180th Ave., Hesperia, was found guilty Nov. 29 of DWLS and was sentenced to 93 days discretionary jail for one year and $400 in fines and costs. Conviction reportable to the Secretary of State (SOS). Charges of second-offense DWLS and and operating without a license were dismissed.

– Richardo Escamilla, 44, of 212 E. Jackson Rd., Hart, was found guilty Nov. 29 of driving while license not valid and was sentenced to 90 days discretionary jail for one year and $300 in fines and costs. Conviction reportable to SOS. One count of operating without insurance was dismissed.

– James Patrick Saville, 33, of 1769 Division St., Muskegon, was found guilty Nov. 29 of allowing a person to drive in violation and was sentenced to 90 days discretionary jail for one year and $290 in fines and costs. One count of DWLS was dismissed.

– David Lee Ackerberg, 31, of 927 N. Dickinson Ave., Hesperia, was found guilty Nov. 28 of DWLS and improper plates was sentenced to 93 days discretionary jail for one year and $400 in fines and costs. Conviction reportable to SOS.

– Devon Izac-Mathew Smith, 22, of 8507 S. 72nd Ave., Montague, was found guilty Nov. 28 of failure to report an accident and was sentenced to 90 days discretionary jail for one year and $325 in fines and costs.

– George Peter Kokx, 70, of 5892 N. 96th Ave., Hart, was found guilty Nov. 28 of uncased firearm in vehicle and was sentenced to 93 days discretionary jail for one year and $400 in fines and costs. Conviction reportable to SOS.

– Daniel Ruben Jobbins, 37, of 597 Sands St., Pentwater, was found guilty Nov. 28 of DWLS and was sentenced to 90 days discretionary jail for one year and $405 in fines and costs.

– Javier Delgado-Tena, 33, of 887 Leonard St., NE, Grand Rapids, was found guilty Nov. 28 of failure to immediately validate/attach kill tag and was sentenced to 90 days discretionary jail for one year and $405 in fines and costs.

– Javier Silviano Delgado-Jaime, 59, of 877 Leonard NE, Grand Rapids, was found guilty Nov. 28 of failure to immediately validate/attach kill tag and was sentenced to 90 days discretionary jail for one year and $405 in fines and costs.

– Sergio Perez, 51, of 18 National Ave., Grand Rapids, was found guilty Nov. 28 of illegal ground blind and was sentenced to 90 days discretionary jail for one year and $130 in fines and costs.

– Javier Morrante Santos, 45, of 198 N. Michigan Ave., Shelby, was found guilty Nov. 28 of exceeding 2 gallons of bait and was sentenced to 90 days discretionary jail for one year and $300 in fines and costs.
