FREMONT — Police are searching for a Newaygo County Jail inmate that escaped police custody at 8:56 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 14.

Police are advising residents to keep their doors locked.

Ian Riley-Jackson Davis, 32, was last seen in the Fremont area, according to Michigan State Police Sgt. Charles Hockanson of the Hart post. He was seen near Spectrum Health Gerber Hospital. Davis was wearing orange jail clothes, but his shirt has been recovered, so he may be shirtless. He is known for car theft, according to the Newaygo County Sheriff’s Office.

He is 6’1″ and weighs 190 pounds and has brown hair and green eyes. He has tattoos on his right arm and both lower legs.
