COLFAX TOWNSHIP — A 2001 24-foot Sylvan pontoon boat valued at $14,000 was stolen from School Section Lake near Walkerville, according to Oceana County Sheriff Craig Mast.

The boat was on a trailer valued at $700, and the trailer was also stolen. The boat has a blue cover and an outboard 54-horsepower Mercury motor. The theft was reported Friday, May 11, at 4:24 p.m.

A row boat was also reported stolen in a nearby area Friday, Mast said, although the theft occurred Thursday, May 10. That vessel was stolen from the 8000 block of East Yonker Road in Leavitt Township.

Both cases are under investigation by the Oceana County Sheriff’s Office.
