Macie Brown

Hart native accepted to medical school.

WINONA LAKE, Indiana – Macie Brown, the daughter of Meg and Jeff Brown of Hart, has been accepted to the Liberty University College of Osteopathic Medicine, where she will study to become a physician beginning this fall.

Brown graduated from Grace College in December of 2017, with a bachelor’s degree in health science and a concentration in pre-medicine. She is a 2014 graduate of Hart High School.

Brown always knew she would go to grad school. “I love to learn and want to be as educated and equipped as possible for my future career,” Brown said, adding that becoming a physician was the best way that she could serve others. She never had any doubts, as her parents were constant in their encouragement, pushing Brown to reach her full potential. In addition, the professors at Grace invested in her and encouraged her personally. Her academic advisor, Dr. Rick Roberts, was instrumental in each step of the process into medical school.

After medical school, Brown will complete a minimum of three years of residency to become a licensed doctor of osteopathy. Brown has not chosen a specialty yet, but she is interested in primary care, including family practice or OBGYN, because she is “passionate about forming relationships” with her future patients.
