FERRY TOWNSHIP — Michael Bradley Redmon, 39, of Hesperia was transported to an area hospital Thursday morning, June 29, after an asparagus cart that he was loading onto a trailer rolled backwards, overturned and pinned his arms underneath it, according to an Oceana County Sheriff’s Office accident report.

The cart “was being loaded onto a trailer with the wings up.” the report states. The vehicle was not loading well and (Redmon) was pushing the vehicle. The vehicle stalled and rolled backwards and overturned, landing on the rear of the vehicle pinning (Redmon’s) arms under the vehicle.”

The incident occurred at 9:10 a.m. at an asparagus field on East Baker Road west of South 140th Avenue.
