HART — The following were sentenced recently in 78th District Court:

– Karla Rene Fotis, 58, of 2747 E. Forrest, Rothbury, was found guilty Aug. 22 of harboring misdemeanants and sentenced to 93 days discretionary jail to ensure compliance with sentence; credit for time served if imposed; and $150 in fines and costs. A second count of harboring misdemeanants was dismissed.

– Casey Lynn Gahan, 24, of 3774 Thunderbird Ave., SW, was found guilty Aug. 22 of operating while intoxicated (OWI) and sentenced to 93 days discretionary jail to ensure compliance with sentence; credit for time served if imposed; six months probation; $1,680 in fines and costs; not to purchase or possess a firearm; subject to counseling, searches and testing as required by probation; no alcohol/drugs; no assaultive behavior; and no contact with probationers or felons. Conviction reportable to the Secretary of State (SOS). One count of second-offense OWI dismissed.

– Jorge Valentine Garcia, 35, of 778 E. Yale Rd., Rothbury, was found guilty Aug. 23 of driving while license suspended (DWLS) and sentenced to 93 days at court’s discretion over the next one year and $400 in fines and costs. Conviction reportable to SOS.

– Donald Wayne Jones, 54, of 6539 E. Filmore Rd., Walkerville, pleaded “no contest” Aug. 23 to failure to report an accident and sentenced to 90 days at court’s discretion over the next one year and $325 in fines and costs.

– Brent Alan Schneider, 19, of 2782 64th St. SW, Byron Center, was found guilty Aug. 23 of failure to use caution and sentenced to 90 days discretionary jail to ensure compliance with sentence; credit for time served if imposed; and $325 in fines and costs.

– Tyler James Bennett, 17, of 2331 E. Keating Ave., Muskegon, was found guilty Aug. 22 of marijuana possession and sentenced to one year discretionary jail to ensure compliance with sentence; credit for time served if imposed; probation continued; driver’s license suspended 180 days; and $390 in fines and costs. Conviction reportable to SOS.

– Danella Marie Conkle, 39, of 4300 N. 188th Ave., Walkerville, was found guilty Aug. 22 of DWLS and sentenced to 93 days discretionary jail to ensure compliance with sentence; credit for time served if imposed; and $400 in fines and costs.

– Marcos Lee Ackerberg, 27, of 6660 W. Fox Rd., Mears, was found guilty June 13 of operating with a high BAC and sentenced Aug. 22 to 180 days discretionary jail to ensure compliance with sentence; credit for time served if imposed; $1,830 in fines and costs; and outpatient treatment. Conviction reportable to SOS. One count of second-offense OWI and one count of failure to stop at an accident were dismissed.

– Joshua Daniel-Riggs Easton, 36, of 5724 S. Cherokee Bend, New Era, was found guilty Aug. 22 of disorderly person – drunk and sentenced to 90 days discretionary jail to ensure compliance with sentence; credit for time served if imposed; and $400 in fines and costs.

– Kurtis Bradley Kares, 26, of 1570 Quarry Ave., NW, Grand Rapids, was found guilty Aug. 22 of third-degree retail fraud and sentenced to 93 days discretionary jail to ensure compliance with sentence; credit for time served if imposed; and $425 in fines, costs and restitution.

– Larry Wayne Leister, Jr., 48, of 8430 W. Shelby Rd., Shelby, was found guilty Aug. 22 of OWI and sentenced to nine days in jail; 93 days discretionary jail to ensure compliance with sentence; credit for time served if imposed; six months probation; outpatient treatment; $1,680 in fines and costs; not to purchase or possess a firearm; subject to counseling, searches and testing as required by probation; no alcohol/drugs; no assaultive behavior; and no contact with probationers or felons. Conviction reportable to SOS. One count of operating with a high BAC and one count of DWLS were dismissed.

– Marc Anthony Buckland, 35, of 5770 W. 7th St., Mears, was found guilty Aug. 22 of domestic violence and sentenced to nine days in jail; 93 days discretionary jail to ensure compliance with sentence; credit for time served if imposed; no contact with the victim; and $925 in fines and costs.
