HART — A 41-year-old Hart man was arrested by the Hart Police Department Thursday evening, June 9, for felonies of assault with intent to commit to great bodily harm less than murder and unlawful imprisonment.

Tony Jerome Lopez, of 314 Hart Street, was lodged in the Oceana County Jail on a $25,000/cash/surety bond.

Lopez is accused of severely beating a female victim, said Hart Police Chief Dan Leimback. The incident was reported Thursday at 6:15 p.m. in the 300 block of Hart Street. The victim sought her treatment and was released from the hospital, Leimback said. She suffered “multiple bruising about the body” and two black eyes. No weapon was used, and her injuries were not life-threatening.

Lopez is scheduled for a preliminary conference in 78th District Court, June 20, at 3 p.m.
