HART — The following were arraigned recently in front of the 78th District Court Magistrate:

Felony

– Jason Charles Canavan, 29, of 5823 N. 192nd Ave., Walkerville, was arrested by the State, Sheriffs’, Chiefs’ Enforcement of Narcotics Team (SSCENT) for a felony of possession of methamphetamine. Preliminary conference: Oct. 26 at 3 p.m. Bail: $5,000/cash/surety. The charge stems from a Feb. 6 incident, according to court records, and the defendant is currently lodged in a Michigan Department of Corrections (MDOC) prison. According to the Offender Tracking Information System (OTIS), Canavan is serving minimum of one year and 11 months to a maximum of 10 years in prison for a July 21, 2015 conviction in Newaygo County for possession of methamphetamine and a three to 20 year term for a July 21, 2015 conviction in Newaygo County of operating/maintaining a lab involving meth. His earliest release date is July 19, 2018.

Misdemeanors

– Semaj Dquan Collier, 17, of 311 E. Jefferson Rd., Hart, was arrested Oct. 15 by the Pentwater Police Department (PPD) for a misdemeanor of malicious destruction of property (MDOP) – signs/bills/notices. Pretrial: Nov. 3 at 2 p.m. Bail: $1,500/cash/surety/10 percent. The charge stems from a Sept. 20 incident in the Village of Pentwater, in which street signs and pavement were spray painted.

– Devin James Aguirre, 21, of 3680 W. Polk Rd., Hart, was arrested Oct. 15 by the Shelby Police Department (SPD) for a misdemeanor of assault and battery. Pretrial: Nov. 3 at 4:30 p.m. Bail: $2,500/cash/surety/10 percent cash.

– Julian Tienda, Jr., 31, of 509 E. Church St., Hart, was arrested Oct. 8 by the Hart Police Department (HPD) for a misdemeanor of domestic violence. Pretrial: Nov. 3 at 11:30 a.m. Bail: $2,500/cash/surety/10 percent cash.

– Steven Gino Rice, III, 18, of 1820 Loop Rd., Hesperia, was arrested Oct. 9 by SPD for misdemeanors of driving while license not valid; expired plates and no proof of insurance. Pretrial: Nov. 3 at 2:15 p.m. Bail: $1,000/cash/surety/10 percent.

– Dayton Robert Gibson, 17, of 6131 E. Longbridge Rd., Pentwater, was arrested Oct. 13 by the PPD for a misdemeanor of MDOP – signs/bills/notices. Pretrial: Nov. 3 at 10 a.m. Bail: $1,500/cash/surety/10 percent. The charge stems from a Sept. 20 incident in the Village of Pentwater, in which street signs and pavement were spray painted.

– Gerardo Florentine Gutierrez, 27, of 339 Dewey St., Apt. D, Shelby, was arrested Oct. 2 by the Oceana County Sheriff’s Office (OCSO) for a misdemeanor of second-offense driving while license suspended (DWLS). Pretrial: Nov. 3 at 10:45 a.m. Bail: $3,500/cash/surety/10 percent cash.

– Todd Allen Smith, 43, of 2088 Joy St., Mears, was cited Sept. 25 by the Michigan State Police (MSP) for a misdemeanor of improper transport of medical marijuana. Pretrial: Oct. 28 at 10:15 a.m. Bail: $2,500/personal.

– Mitchell Sidney Fuller, 26, of 2666 116th Ave., Hart, was cited Oct. 2 by MSP for a misdemeanors of operating a motor vehicle without security (no insurance) and operating without a license. Pretrial: Oct. 28 at 9:30 a.m. Bail: $5,000/personal.

– Thomas Leroy Wiles, 40, of 304 Nancy St., Grand Rapids, was arrested Sept. 5 by MSP for a misdemeanor of second-offense DWLS. Pretrial: Oct. 28 at 10:30 a.m. Bail: $2,000/cash/surety/10 percent.

– Beverly Renee Bryant, 35, of 2362 W. Cleveland Rd., Rothbury, was arrested Oct. 9 by OCSO for a misdemeanor of breaking and entering – illegal entry. Pretrial: Oct. 28 at 11:15 a.m. Bail: $5,000/cash/surety.
