HART — The 25-year-old Hart man who allegedly committed indecent exposure in front of the Hart Public Library last Sunday afternoon has been arraigned in 78th District Court on a high-court misdemeanor charge of aggravated indecent exposure.

David Allen Lefler, who resides in an adult foster care home at 412 Hart St., is facing up to two years in prison if convicted.

Hart Police Chief Dan Leimback said Lefler exposed his genital area while standing in front of the library as a woman walked by. There were no other witnesses to the incident, Leimback said. A playground is located near the library.

A Google search shows Lefler’s address is Fessenden AFC. OCP called the AFC home and spoke with a person who identified herself as a worker, and said she “did not want to get involved.” She also did not want to provide her name. However, the worker said that because Lefler is an adult, he does not require supervision when he is out and about. “If he makes poor decisions, there is nothing we can do about it,” she said. “One resident can’t reflect on the entire home.”

Officers went to the AFC home Sunday after receiving the 5:50 p.m. complaint and interviewed Lefler, who admitted to committing the alleged crime, Leimback said.
