SHELBY — Courtney Kokx was crowned the 2015 Asparagus Queen by her sister, 2014 queen Danielle Kokx, during the Asparagus Banquet and Pageant Saturday evening, June 6, at Shelby High School.

Konnie Vandervelde was named Asparagus Queen Runner-up. The duo will represent Oceana County throughout the year during various parades and events in Michigan, including next weekend’s National Asparagus Festival, which is set for June 12-14. Watch for them during the Joan Glover NAF Royale Parade, which begins Saturday, June 13, at 2 p.m. at the Oceana County Fairgrounds in Hart.
