ROTHBURY — A 42-year-old Rothbury woman was arrested by the Oceana County Sheriff’s Office after allegedly shooting her husband, who received non-life-threatening injuries from a bullet wound to his arm.

Angela Kevwitch was arraigned in 78th District Court on a felonious assault charge, and bond was set at $25,000/10 percent, said Oceana County Undersheriff Tim Priese. “She shot her husband through a door and struck him in the arm with a .38 caliber bullet,” Priese said. “He had left the house in the early morning hours of Sunday, and she did not know this. He returned and tried to enter the house and was shot through the entry door. The suspect has given conflicting stories as to what occurred, but at one point stated that she thought someone was trying to break in. The bullet stayed in his arm — thus is not life threatening.”

The husband drove himself to Mercy Health Lakeshore Campus in Shelby, Priese said, and hospital officials contacted the sheriff’s department at 6:35 a.m.
