VICTORY TWP. (Mason County) — An outstanding student from each high school in northern Oceana, Mason and Manistee counties was recently recognized as a Michigan Education Association Academic All-Star. The students were awarded  Wednesday, April 23 during the 18th annual awards program and banquet at West Shore Community College.

The selection of each student was made by MEA members at each school district.

Criteria for selection of the award included a student’s scholarship, leadership, character and service. The award was in the form of a plaque recognizing the student’s achievement as an Academic All-star for 2014 and a $50 gift certificate to Barnes & Noble book store.
