The following Christmas/holiday events scheduled for Mason and Oceana counties have been reported to Mason County Press and Oceana County Press. Friday, November 25

  • Home for the Holidays parade and Christmas tree lighting. Parade line-up at Hart Public Schools, 5:30 to 6:15 p.m., pre- and post-parade warming and refreshments, Lakeside Rehab & Fitness, 39 State St., 6 to 7:30 p.m. Lighted Christmas Parade, downtown, 6:30 p.m. Hart Community Christmas Tree Lighting at Hart Commons, immediately after parade. Visit with Santa Claus, Hart Commons, after tree lighting. Sponsored by Silver Lake Sand Dunes – Hart Visitors Bureau.
  • Light Up the Park, Webster Park, Hesperia. Christmas caroling and live music, 6 to 7:30 p.m. Big Tuck’s Food Truck, 5 to 8:30 p.m. Commemorative ornament booth, Christmas cookie booth, hot cocoa and popcorn booth, shop local shop small booth, horse drawn wagon rides, light show, Santa and Mrs. Claus. Fireworks, 8 p.m. Sponsored by Hesperia Area Chamber of Commerce.

Saturday, November 26

  • Aglow on the Avenue holiday parade, downtown Ludington, 6 p.m., sponsored by Ludington & Scottville Area Chamber of Commerce.
  • Tree Lighting and Santa’s Arrival, Pentwater, 5:30 p.m.
  • Christmas Market, Village Green, Pentwater, time to be announced.

Saturday, December 3 

  • Manistee Victorian Sleighbell Parade & Old Christmas Weekend, downtown Manistee. Parade at 5:30 p.m.  Click here for all events.
  • Caroling on the Green, Village Green, Pentwater, 3 to 6 p.m.
  • 20th Annual Tiger Bazaar, Shelby High School Gym, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Craft and vendor sale. Live music and concessions. Free entry. All proceeds go to the Shelby cheer program. Over 55 booth spaces sold. More available. Contact Sarah Schaner, [email protected]
  • Annual Christmas Tree Lighting, Village of Shelby, 7 p.m. The Shelby Area Chamber of Commerce will provide cider, hot cocoa, cookies and a visit from Santa, and the Shelby High School Band will provide music. The chamber is also sponsoring a decorating contest, and a winner will be selected for both a business and a residence for a $200 prize. Anyone who lives or owns a business in the Village of Shelby or Shelby Township is eligible.
  • Craft Fair, Scottville Area Senior Center, 140 S. Main St., 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Sunday, December 4

  • Christmas in the Village, Free Soil Community Center, 8480 N. Democrat St., Free Soil, 1:30 to 5:30 p.m. Pictures with Santa and Mrs. Claus, book give away, build with a hero, face painting, games, gift bags, mitten tree, cookies and punch.

Saturday, December 10

  • Scottville neighborhood Christmas parade and downtown celebration, 6:30 p.m.
  • Caroling on the Green, Village Green, Pentwater, 3 to 6 p.m.

Saturday, December 17

  • Caroling on the Green, Village Green, Pentwater, 3 to 6 p.m.
  • Horse and wagon rides, Pentwater, 3:30 to 6:30 p.m.
  • Holiday History on Hancock, Pentwater, time to be announced.
  • Bonfire on the Village Green, Pentwater, time to be announced.

Sunday, December 18

  • Christmas Celebration Service with a special musical performance of selections from Handel’s Messiah by Sunday School children and adults, First Baptist Church in Hart, 9:30–11 a.m.

Saturday, December 24

  • Christmas Eve Candlelight Service, First Baptist Church in Hart, 11:30 p.m.

Sunday, December 25

  • Christmas Day Service, First Baptist Church in Hart, 11 a.m.
