HART — A 36-year-old man faces serving a 15-year prison term after pleading “no contest” to first-degree criminal sexual conduct (CSC) in Oceana County’s 51st Circuit Court Monday, Sept. 12.

Marcelino Caal-Cho, whose address is listed in his court file as 5840 7th St. Mears, has been lodged in the Oceana County Jail since arrest last spring, said Oceana County Prosecutor Joseph Bizon.

Following his prison term, Caal-Cho faces deportation to Guatemala because he is not a US citizen, said Bizon.

The victim is a 10-year-old girl. “He sexually penetrated the child,” said the prosecutor. The rape occurred March 29 or 30 in Golden Township.

“The victim’s mother was in the courtroom and agreed to the resolution.”

Sentencing is scheduled for Nov. 28.
