The following is recent activity of the Oceana County Sheriff’s Office:

Friday, May 6, 2022:

  • 6:30 a.m., malicious destruction of property, 700 block of North 192nd Avenue, Leavitt Township. A motion detector and an outdoor temperature sensor were damaged.
  • 8:41 a.m., a 37-year-old Ludington man and a 34-year-old Shelby man were both arrested on warrants at the Muskegon County Jail and transported to the Oceana County Jail.
  • 4:03 p.m., child abuse and neglect, Seventh Street, Mears. The case was turned over to Child Protective Services.
  • 4:14 p.m., domestic assault, 4000 block of South Ridge Road, Village of New Era.
  • 6:49 p.m., dog bite, Hawley Street, Village of Hesperia.
  • 11:37 p.m., a 40-year-old Shelby woman was cited for second-offense driving while license revoked, Tonawanda Trail, Grant Township.

Saturday, May 7, 2022:

  • 2:21 p.m., larceny of several items including a cell phone valued at $100, a watch valued at $100, 2 grams of marijuana and $250 in cash, Michigan Avenue, Village of Hesperia.
  • 10:34 p.m., a 48-year-old Hesperia man was arrested on a failure to appear warrant, North Oceana Drive, Weare Township.

Sunday, May 8, 2022:

  • 6:11 p.m., domestic violence, 3000 block of East Warren Road, Ferry Township.
  • 8:10 p.m., a 21-year-old Pentwater man was arrested for second-offense operating while intoxicated, West Eagle Road, Weare Township.

Monday, May 9, 2022:

  • 7:21 a.m., malicious destruction of property, Rothbury rest area, south US 31, Grant Township. A sign valued at $100 was destroyed.
  • 2:08 p.m., gas drive-off, $20 in fuel stolen, Wishing Well, Pentwater Township. 
  • 4:30 p.m., larceny of a detour sign valued at $150 was stolen, 144th Avenue near Clock Road, Elbridge Township.
  • 10:55 p.m., a 40-year-old Montague man was arrested for meth possession and driving while license suspended, and a 28-year-old Ravenna woman was cited for open intoxicants, 7500 block of South Michigan Avenue, Village of Rothbury.
