Virtual community update on internet expansion Aug. 10.

OCEANA COUNTY — The Oceana County Economic Alliance is hosting a virtual community update via Zoom video conferencing Tuesday, Aug. 10, at 8 a.m. to provide results of the Oceana County Broadband Survey that was administered through Connect Michigan last spring. Recommendations for building an “Oceana County Technology Plan to become a Connected Community” will be shared by Tom Stephenson of Connect Michigan.

“We look forward to sharing the survey data with the community and using it to inform our work in expanding affordable and sufficient internet service to all. Many thanks to all who took the time to share their valuable input”, said Tammy Carey, OCEA Board Chair and Community Foundation for Oceana County President and CEO.

The event, sponsored by Great Lakes Energy, will also feature expansion updates from local internet providers Charter, Point, and True Stream, and participants will have the opportunity to submit chat questions for the presenters.

Those not yet registered to attend the online Zoom event can visit Oceana County Economic Alliance’s facebook page https://www.facebook.com/OceanaCountyEconomicAlliance/ for the link to register.
