Felonious assault arrests top police activity.

The following is recent police activity in Oceana County:

Friday, April 30, 2021:

  • 1:59 a.m. (OCSO), a 31-year-old Allegan man was cited for driving while license suspended (DWLS), US 31, Shelby Township.
  • 4:28 a.m., (OCSO), a 26-year-old Muskegon man was arrested for operating while intoxicated (OWI), US 31, Shelby Township.
  • 11:20 .m., (Michigan State Police), car/deer crash, Tyler Road near 140th Avenue, Elbridge Township.
  • 11:43 p.m., (OCSO), a 59-year-old Hesperia man was cited for open intoxicants, South Maple Island Road, Newfield Township.

Saturday, May 1, 2021:

  • 12:05 p.m., (OCSO), a 26-year-old Hesperia man was cited for DWLS and failure to report an accident following a crash, South Maple Island Road, Greenwood Township.
  • 1:40 p.m., (MSP), vehicle crash causing injury, Silver Lake Sand Dunes, Golden Township.
  • 7:12 p.m., (OCSO), a 31-year-old Hart man was cited for driving without insurance and without a license, West Tyler Road, Hart Township.
  • 8:11 p.m., (MSP), a 23-year-old Muskegon man was cited for DWLS, Winston Road near US 31, Grant Township.

Sunday, May 2, 2021:

  • 1:38 a.m., (OCSO), stalking, East Skeels Road, Greenwood Township.
  • 11:01 a.m., (OCSO), a 26-year-old Mears man was arrested for felonious assault and violation of personal protection order (PPO), West 7th Street, Golden Township. The victim was choked and suffered injuries, including a black eye.  
  • 7:35 p.m., (OCSO), a 29-year-old Rothbury was arrested for felonious assault, East Park Road, Otto Township. The suspect brandished a firearm. The victim suffered injuries from being punched and choked and was transported to the hospital.
  • 10:57 p.m., (OCSO), a 24-year-old Montague man was cited for DWLS, no insurance and open intoxicants, West Garfield Road, Benona Township.
