Obituary: Virginia Camargo, 54, of Shelby

Virginia Leona Camargo, 54, of Shelby, passed away Tuesday, March 23, 2021, surrounded by her loving family in her childhood home. She was born June 26, 1966, in Detroit, the daughter of Pedro Sr. and Mary (Flatt) Camargo.

Virginia was a devoted mother to her daughters, Elizabeth and Ashley, and a loving grandmother to Zander and Amya. She loved her family more than anything on this earth. Virginia was always up for a good time. She loved to travel, go to concerts, and hang out with her dear friends and family. Virginia will be remembered for her baby blue eyes and always having a smile on her face.

Virginia is survived by her daughters, Elizabeth (John Scheffler) Blas and Ashley (Desmond Woods) Blas; grandchildren, Zander Blas and Amya Woods; mother, Mary Camargo; sisters, Candy (Joe) Sarazin, Bernice Trevino, Cecelia Camargo, Helen (Dave) Towne, Frances Fawley, and Lupe (Scott) Broner; brothers, Vincent (Mary) Camargo, Johnny Camargo, and Tony (Krystal) Camargo; her lifelong friend, Luis Blas; and many nieces and nephews. 

Virginia was preceded in death by her father, Pedro Camargo Sr.; brothers, Paul Camargo, Pedro Jr. (Cindy) Camargo, and Antonio Camargo; nieces, Kelly Camargo and Tonia Sarazin; and brother-in-law, Dave Fawley.

Funeral services will be conducted at 3 p.m., Monday, March 29, 2021, at Beacon Cremation & Funeral Service, King-Hart Chapel, 2370 North 72nd Avenue, Hart, MI 49420, with Fr. Daniel Schumaker officiating. Visitation will be held Monday, from 1 to 3 p.m., at the funeral home. Interment will be in Hart Cemetery at a later date.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Camargo family for funeral expenses.
