SHELBY TOWNSHIP – Road construction on US 31 from M 20 to north of Shelby Road begins Tuesday, July 9, according to the Michigan Department of Transportation.

The $1.8 million project includes resurfacing approximately four miles of the highway.

The southbound off-ramp at Shelby Road will be closed for a week starting Tuesday, July 9, and the northbound on-ramp at Shelby Road will be closed for a week starting Monday, July 15.

Mainline milling and paving will take place starting the week of July 22. Mainline work will consist of intermittent single lane closures on both directions of US 31 between M 20 and Shelby Road.

Additional ramp closures will take place after the mainline work, and updates will be provided as the date draws near.
