Two weekends of winter fun in Pentwater.

PENTWATER – The Village of Pentwater may be a known as a summer town, but residents and visitors know how to have a fun time in the winter too.

Gear up for two Saturdays of fun during Winterfest, Feb. 9 and 16, with all kinds of fun outdoor winter activities like a “Polar Plunge” into the icy waters of Pentwater Lake, cross country skiing, a “Snowman Scram” race, sledding and ice fishing.

Here is the lineup:

Saturday, Feb. 9:

– 2019 Snowman Scram 5K and 1 Mile Fun Run is a fundraiser for the Pentwater cross country and track teams.
The 1 Mile Fun Run starts at 11 a.m. with the 5K run/walk to follow.
Races start and finish in front of Pentwater Public School.
Entry fees are $15 for 1 mile Fun Run and $25 for 5K run/walk

– Pentwater Pathways Open – POSTPONED TO FEB. 16 DUE TO ICY TRAIL CONDITIONS
Noon to 3 p.m. There is no fee – the event is free.
Cross country skiing, hot chocolate, cookies and a campfire at the trailhead. Skis will be provided. Snowshoes are not allowed. If there is no snow, it will be open Feb. 16. Note that there is a new parking location. For ski and trail info, call Gaye 231.873.5247 or visit www.oceanaski.org.

– Sledding all day on the Village Green

– Two Town Tasting
Proceeds to benefit the Pentwater Arts Council
10 Locations in Hart 1-4 p.m. and Pentwater 2-5 p.m.
Advance tickets are $20 and $25 at the door

Saturday, Feb. 16:

– Free Fishing Weekend Feb. 16 and 17

– Ninth Annual Ryan Williams Perch Tournament Saturday, Feb. 16, from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Event day registration is 7-10 a.m. at the Pentwater Convenience Center, weigh-in at 4 p.m. at the Boat House Bar & Grille.
Fee: $10 per adult, $5 per kid (15 or younger)
100 percent cash and prize payout for first, second and third places.
Final weigh-in at the Boat House Bar & Grille by 4pm.

– Freezin’ for a Reason Polar Dip
Noon at the Pentwater Lake Boat Launch, 191 Lake St.
Jump in and freeze in Pentwater Lake for a good cause. Sign-up to jump in or sponsor someone. Pick up your sponsor sheets at the Pentwater Chamber of Commerce, www.pentwater.org or register the day of event. Proceeds to benefit chamber of commerce events. If there is no ice, participants can still run and jump in.

– Colleen Plummer Memorial Craft Beer and Music Fest
Tickets are $25 in advance or $30 at the door.
