Manhunt underway in Shelby.

SHELBY — Police are actively searching for a man who escaped police custody while at Mercy Health Lakeshore Campus Sunday night, Aug. 26, according to a Shelby Police Department Facebook post.
“Since approxImately 8:30 p.m. (Sunday), all local agencies are actively looking for a 30-year-old white male, approximately 5’ 6” 170 pounds, long hair with facial hair/beard. He was last seen wearing a black T-shirt, gray jogging shorts, no shoes or socks. He is handcuffed in the front. The subject fled the Shelby Lakeshore Hospital on foot.
“We ask anyone with information or anyone who has seen this subject to call 911 immediately.
“We ask that you please keep all doors and vehicles locked. Do not approach the subject if you see him.
An update at 5:15 a.m., Monday, Aug. 27 states:
“At this time, the subject is still being pursued, by multiple agencies. The current weather conditions have been hindering officer and K9 efforts, however these efforts are still fully underway to apprehend the subject.
“We ask that you all continue to keep alert and that all homes, out buildings and vehicles remain locked. Thank you.”
