Water road closed for festival.

ROTHBURY — Water Road is closed from Winston Road to Clay Road for the Electric Forest Festival, which begins the first weekend of the event Wednesday, June 20, with early arrival festival goers.
Expect heavy traffic on northbound US 31 at the Rothbury exit and on Winston Road Wednesday.
The Water Road closure takes effect Monday, June 18, at 8 p.m., said Carrie Lombardi of LiveLoud Media.
“You cannot drive through it,” Lombardi said in an email statement, “but you can access Water Road from the north and the south.”
The first weekend of the gigantic musical festival continues through Sunday, June 24. The second weekend resumes Wednesday June 27 with early arrivals, and continues through Sunday July 1.
Expect heavy southbound traffic on US 31 Monday, June 25, and Monday, July, as festival goers leave the venue.
This year marks the eighth year of the massive festival at the Double JJ Resort that attracts approximately 50,000 people each year. ROTHBURY preceded Electric Forest in 2008 and 2009.
