Creative writing session with published author June 30.
HART — Have you ever thought you might want to write a story? How about a poem or personal essay?
On Saturday, June 30, from 10 a.m. to noon, in the Hart Community Center, Susan DeFreitas leads participants in exploring tools and techniques for creative expression in a fun, no-pressure setting. This program is open to ages 14 and up — no experience required. Please call Hart Area Public Library at 231-873-4476 to register. Space is limited.
Susan DeFreitas is the author of the novel Hot Season, which won a Gold IPPY Award. Her fiction, nonfiction, and poetry have been featured in The Writer’s Chronicle, The Huffington Post, The Utne Reader, Story Magazine, Daily Science Fiction, and High Desert Journal, along with numerous other journals and anthologies. A native of West Michigan, she lives Portland, Oregon, where she serves as a collaborative editor with Indigo Editing & Publications. In 2017, The Oregonian named her “One of 25 Oregon Authors Every Oregonian Must Read.”
