HART – Gaberiel Wooden of Mason County certainly had a lot to smile about Friday, March 23, when he was presented a brand-new bicycle and helmet at My Community Dental Centers’ Hart office.

MCDC concluded its month-long sweepstakes that offered children ages 10 and under a chance to win a bicycle and helmet in honor of National Children’s Dental Health Month in February.

National Children’s Dental Health Month, sponsored by the American Dental Association, Crest and Oral B, is a month-long national health observance that brings together thousands of dedicated dental professionals, healthcare providers, and educators to promote the benefits of good oral health to children, their caregivers, teachers and many others.

This year’s campaign slogan was “Brush your teeth with fluoride toothpaste and clean between your teeth for a healthy smile.”

Established in 2006, MCDC is the largest not-for-profit 501(c)3 dental support organization in the United States that is dedicated to providing quality care. MCDC welcomes patients covered through Medicaid, Healthy Kids Dental, Healthy Michigan Plan and private dental insurance.

The organization also offers My Dental Program (MyDP) for those without dental insurance, which provides reduced fees based on household income. Comprehensive dental care for the entire family, including exams, cleanings, fillings, tooth removal, and dentures are provided.

MCDC operates 38 dental centers statewide.
