SUMMIT TOWNSHIP (Mason County) — A Michigan State Police dive team is expected to search Lake Michigan near the Mason-Oceana counties line Friday, Feb. 17, for 50-year-old Ryan Richard Walsworth of Mears who has been missing since Monday morning, Feb. 13, said Sgt. Charles Hockanson.

An MSP helicopter searched the area Thursday, Hockanson said.

Walsworth’s white 2012 Ford F150 Crew Cab pickup truck was found on Montgomery Boulevard, along Lake Michigan west of Bass Lake. Dozens of people and law enforcement personnel have been searching the shores and banks along Lake Michigan in the area since his disappearance.

Oceana County Sheriff Craig Mast said that Walsworth had expressed to his family that he had been contemplating suicide.

Walsworth was last seen leaving his residence in Golden Township Monday morning in his truck.

Anyone who may have additional information is asked to contact the Oceana County Sheriff’s Office at 231-873-2121 or Mason-Oceana 911 at 231-869-5858.
