Police handle assaults, crashes.
The following is recent police activity in Oceana County:
Tuesday, Jan. 17, 2017:
– 7:47 a.m., (Oceana County Sheriff’s Office), vehicle slide-off, South 148th Avenue and East Pierce Road, Ferry Township.
– 10:39 a.m., (OCSO), missing person, 8000 block of West Grant Road, Benona Township. Missing person was found at another family member’s residence in Whitehall due to icy roads.
– Noon, (Michigan State Police), identity theft, 2000 block of 48th Street, Golden Township.
– 12:55 p.m., (OCSO), breaking and entering, 6700 block of North 126th Avenue, Crystal Township. Small miscellaneous items were taken. OCSO is following up on it.
– 1:13 p.m., (OCSO), assault, West Meadow Lane, Rothbury. A 37-year-old Rothbury man was assaulted. Case is under investigation.
– 2:30 p.m., (OCSO), vehicle crash due to icy roads, no injuries, West Hazel Road and North Oceana Drive, Hart Township.
– 4:04 p.m., (OCSO), motorist assist, West Jefferson Road and 104th Avenue, Crystal Township.
– 5:40 p.m., (OCSO), neighbor dispute, 8500 block of East Hawley Road, Newfield Township.
– 7:59 p.m., (OCSO), assault, 7800 block of South Michigan Avenue, Rothbury. A 60-year-old Rothbury man was assaulted by a 30-year-old Whitehall man. The report was submitted to the Oceana County Prosecutor’s Office.
– 9:22 p.m., (OCSO), disturbance, 2400 block of Whitetail Drive, Rothbury.
– 9:36 p.m., (MSP), a 54-year-old Twin Lake man was arrested for operating while intoxicated (OWI), US 31 and Park Road, Grant Township.
January 18, 2017:
– 6:06 a.m., (OCSO), assist Newaygo County, Michigan Avenue, Shelby. A 54-year-old Shelby man was arrested and turned over to a Newaygo County sheriff’s deputy in Hesperia.
– 6:43 a.m., (OCSO), harassment, 9000 block of North Oceana Drive, Weare Township.
