Firefighters were dispatched to scene at 7970 W. Park Rd. at 2:45 a.m., said Grant Township Fire Chief Roland Brooks. The barn was fully engulfed in flames when firefighters arrived, and the roof caved in shortly thereafter, Brooks said.

The barn, owned by Michael Glover, was not insured, Brooks said. Four departments, including Grant Township, Shelby-Benona, Ferry Township and Montague, battled the blaze in strong winds. Firefighters cleared the scene after five hours, he said.

Fire investigators were at the scene Sunday morning, Nov. 20, but the cause remains “undetermined,” the chief said.

A tractor and an ATV vehicle parked outside near the barn were destroyed, he said. Glover’s house and two outbuildings were not damaged. No one was injured.
