MSPCLAYBANKS TOWNSHIP — An elderly Claybanks Township couple was injured in a single-vehicle crash, possibly caused by a medical condition, Saturday, April 16, at 6:16 p.m. on Scenic Drive between Winston and Webster roads, according to Michigan State Police from the Hart post.

The couple was southbound when their vehicle went off the right side of the road; crashed into the ditch; and then went up an embankment, according to MSP.

The 82-year-old woman and 87-year-old man were transported by Oceana County EMS to Mercy Health Lakeshore Campus in Shelby, where the woman was then airlifted to Spectrum in Grand Rapids.

Alcohol and speeding were not factors in the crash, police said.

Grant Township Fire Department assisted at the scene.

No other details about the crash were immediately available.
