ELBRIDGE TOWNSHIP — The motorcyclist who died Sunday evening, Sept. 6, following a crash on East Filmore Road near 136th Avenue has been identified as Jesus Armando DeLeon-Rodriguez, 22, of Hart, according to the Hart post of the Michigan State Police.

A suspect was arrested for operating while intoxicated in connection to the crash, said Trooper Dan Thomas, and an investigation of a more serious charge of operating while intoxicated causing death continues.

“We’re still piecing this together,” Thomas said. “The secondary vehicle did not make contact with the motorcycle.”

Police did not have any other details to release, such as the suspect’s name, age or gender, as of Tuesday morning, Sept. 8.

The crash occurred at 7:50 p.m., according to MSP. DeLeon-Rodriguez was not wearing a helmet and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Also responding to the scene were Oceana County Sheriff’s Office, Walkerville Fire Department and Oceana EMS.
