Johnson Street water main work complete

HART — Hallack Contracting completed all water main connections Aug. 5 for the Johnson/Water Street Project, and storm sewer replacement concluded Monday, Aug. 10, states City Manager Stan Rickard in a newsletter about the project.

“City electric, Charter cable and Frontier telephone continue their relocation efforts,” Rickard states.

“Sand grading got underway last week, so Johnson Street will soon resemble a street. Road construction will commence on or about (Tuesday) Aug. 11, and Water Street (Johnson to Lincoln) will be milled off soon in preparation for resurfacing.

“More defective sidewalk will be removed, so use extreme caution when using the road right-of-way to access your property. Conditions are still very dangerous due to daily changes in terrain.”
