Man allegedly holds scissor blade against victim’s throat during ‘rolling domestic.’

WEARE TOWNSHIP — A 23-year-old Ludington man was arrested by Oceana County sheriff’s deputies Friday morning, Aug. 5, following a “rolling domestic assault” — meaning the assault occurred while the victim and assailant were traveling in a vehicle.

The couple were traveling on US 31 near Monroe Road around 11 a.m., according to Oceana County Sheriff Craig Mast.

The suspect reportedly assaulted the woman several times while she was driving, including holding a scissor blade against her throat, threatening to kill her. The man also choked her to the point of losing consciousness, said Mast, and he punched her in the head several times while she was driving.

The suspect was arrested in Ludington, the sheriff said, and charged with a felony of assault with a dangerous weapon. He was lodged in the Oceana County Jail.
