Emergency personnel searching for missing person.

 

UPDATE: Mr. Chmielewski was located Saturday at 11:18 a.m. about one quarter mile away from where his vehicle was left in the roadway. He was found safe and was transported to Trinity Health Lakeshore Campus in Shelby to be checked out. 

 

GOLDEN TOWNSHIP — Emergency personnel have been searching for a missing person since early this morning, Saturday, Aug. 6. A 2017 Chrysler 300 owned by Gregory Carl Chmielewski of Romulus was found in the roadway near Ridge and Juniper Beach roads near Summer Lake, according to Oceana County Sheriff Craig Mast. Mast said Chmielewski is believed to have Alzheimer’s disease.

He is 62-years-old, 6-feet, 1-inch tall and weighs 197 pounds and was last seen wearing a blue shirt and navy shorts.

Oceana County Sheriff’s Office is being assisted by Mason County Search and Rescue team, which consists of law enforcement and fire personnel, along with Hart Fire Department and Pentwater Fire Department.

Anyone who sees Chmielewski should contact Mason-Oceana 911.
