GRANT TOWNSHIP — A 42-year-old Muskegon man was transported by Life EMS to Mercy Health Partners in Muskegon for non-life-threatening injuries sustained in a motorcycle crash on southbound US 31 near South Oceana Drive Friday, May 13, around 12:30 p.m., said Oceana County Sheriff Craig Mast.

“Speed and alcohol appear to be factors in the crash,” said Sheriff Mast. Blood was drawn at the hospital, and a warrant is pending.

Witnesses told police the motorcyclist appeared to be going over 100 mph on the 1999 Harley Davidson he was riding.

He sustained a broken arm, a lower leg injury and road rash, said Mast. He was wearing a helmet.
