TWIN LAKE — Pentwater’s Drew Kolenda played the best game of his life in the worst conditions he has ever played in Tuesday, April 26, during the Oakridge invitational at Stonegate Golf Club.

Kolenda, 17, captured first place with a 4-over-par score of 76.“He played fantastic considering he started out with a triple,” said Falcon Coach Alicia Kolenda, his mother. “And he held it par-after-par in the sideways sleet, rain and snow for six hours straight.”

Kolenda, a junior, led the tournament with a 7-stroke lead.

Drew’s sister, Pentwater sophomore Alivia Kolenda, shot an 88 placing ninth on the podium and second place on the Falcon team. Alivia, 15, was the only girl who competed in the match.

“The whole team played fabulous with most of them breaking 100,” said Coach Kolenda.

Pentwater finished in third place with a 357 team total behind Manistee with first place and Montague with second place. Hart finished seventh with a team score of 382, and Shelby took place with a 444 team total.

Pirate leaders were Jake VanderWilk with an 88 and Kohen Porter who shot an 89.
