78th District Court sentencings, April 8, 2021.

HART — The following were sentenced recently in 78th District Court:

  • Shelby William Evans, 24, of 198 N. Michigan Ave., Shelby, was found guilty March 29 of operating while intoxicated and was sentenced to one year suspended jail with credit for one day served and $1,310 in fines and costs. Charges of operating without insurance and violating a restricted license were dismissed. Conviction reportable to the Secretary of State (SOS).
  • Bernabe Luevano, 28, of 4752 Okemos Tr., New Era, was found guilty March 29 of allowing a person to drive in violation and was sentenced to 90 days suspended jail with credit for seven days served and $450 in fines and costs. Charges of operating without insurance and driving while license suspended (DWLS) were dismissed.
  • Mark Linford Rittenhouse, 57, of 8805 E. Loop Rd., Hesperia, was found guilty March 30 of operating while impaired and was sentenced to 93 days suspended jail with credit for one day served; Alcohol Highway Safety Education (AHSE); and $1,055 in fines and costs. One count of operating while intoxicated was dismissed. Conviction reportable to SOS.
  • Brady Lee Rands, 28, of 8647 W. Shelby Rd., Shelby, was found guilty March 30 of operating without insurance and was sentenced to one year suspended jail with credit for one day served and $400 in fines and costs.
  • Jessica Lee Jack, 39, of 9357 112th St., Twin Lake, was found guilty April 7 of allowing a person to drive in violation and was sentenced to $350 in fines and costs. One count of operating without insurance was dismissed.
  • Andrew Douglas McCaleb, 35, of 3238 Charles St., Muskegon, was found guilty April 7 of taking/possessing an undersize bass or pike and was sentenced to $385 in fines and costs.
  • Robbie Jay Rice, 48, of 7140 Westhore Dr., Rothbury, was found guilty April 5 of operating without insurance and was sentenced to one year suspended jail with credit for three days served and $450 in fines and costs. One count of DWLS was dismissed.

Dismissals

  • Miguel Guerrero, (age and address not listed), one count of domestic violence was dismissed March 29. “The victim in this matter is unwilling to cooperate with the prosecution,” court records state. 
  • Tiyana Dawkins, (age and address not listed), one count of felonious assault was dismissed April 6. “After initial review, probable cause for arrest and charge existed,” court records state. “Since the charge, the victim has absconded with the suspect’s children to Florida.”
