Woman arrested for drunk driving following 3-vehicle crash.

HART — A 29-year-old Hart woman was arrested for second-offense operating while intoxicated following a three-vehicle crash Thursday night, Jan. 14, on Polk Road near 72nd Avenue that sent two people to the hospital, according to Hart Police Chief Juan Salazar.

“It was reported that a 40-year-old Hart man failed to yield for oncoming traffic,” said Chief Salazar in a press release. “The man was struck by a 29-year-old Hart woman who was travelling on Polk Road. A 40-year-old Hart woman then rear-ended the 29-year-old Hart woman’s vehicle.  

“The man and 40-year-old Hart woman sustained injuries in reference to this crash and were transported to Mercy Health Hospital in Muskegon for their injuries.”

When the crash was dispatched at approximately 9:30 p.m., it was reported that the woman suffered a broken leg.

“The 29-year-old Hart woman was arrested and lodged at the Oceana County Jail for operating while intoxicated — second or subsequent offense,” said Chief Salazar. “An investigation is ongoing.” 

HPD was assisted by the Michigan State Police, Oceana County Sheriff’s Office, Life EMS and the Hart Area Fire Department.
