SHS closed Thursday for COVID-19 contact tracing.

SHELBY — School officials announced that Shelby High School will be closed Thursday, Nov. 5, to complete COVID-19 contact tracing.

The following notification was posted on the Shelby High School Facebook page Wednesday evening, Nov. 4:

“Good evening. Shelby High School will be closed tomorrow November 5, 2020 to complete the contact tracing process within the high school. The high school received information today from the district health department of one positive student case of COVID-19 and one probable positive student case of COVID-19. We will be working with the Health Department to complete contact tracing and further investigate both cases. You will be contacted by the school or by the health department if your child is a close contact and needs to quarantine. High school students please check your Google Classrooms and email for messages from your teachers. High School students who attend West Shore or Newaygo Career Tech Center will not attend Thursday. Thomas Read Elementary, New Era Elementary and Shelby Middle School students will report to classes as normal tomorrow.”
