3 receive minor injuries in rainy US 31 rollover crash.

SHELBY TOWNSHIP — Three people were treated at the scene by Life EMS for minor injuries received during a vehicle rollover crash on rain-slicked southbound US 31 Monday, Oct. 12, around 4 p.m., according to an Oceana County Sheriff’s Office accident report.

The driver, who is a 51-year-old Hart man, told the sheriff’s deputy that he lost control of the 2003 Honda Odyssey minivan he was driving on the rain covered-road, the report states.

“The vehicle left the roadway to the right and overturned outside of the shoulder,” states the report. “The vehicle came to rest on its top.”

The driver and two passengers were injured — a 19-year-old woman and a 9-year-old boy. Two other passengers — a 49-year-old woman and an 11-year-old boy — were not injured, the report states.

They were all wearing their seatbelts.
