78th District Court sentencings, Sept. 22, 2020.

HART — The following were sentenced recently in 78th District Court:

– Kevin Lee Randol, 45, of 4936 Automobile Rd., Muskegon, was found guilty Sept. 14 of second-offense operating while intoxicated and was sentenced to one year suspended jail; must serve 12 days for failure to pay fines on time; six months probation; outpatient treatment; must submit to testing, searches and counseling as directed by probation officer; not to use or possess any drug that isn’t prescribed; no alcohol; no assaultive behavior; not to have access to or possess any firearms; and $1,805 in fines and costs. Conviction reportable to the Secretary of State (SOS).

– Lizbeth Ruiz-Contreras, 21, of 5677 Okemos Trail, New Era, was found guilty Sept. 17 of unlawful license plates/registration and was sentenced to $245 in fines and costs. One count of operating without insurance was dismissed.

– Kyle Scott Venne, 22, of 85 Hickory Court, Muskegon, was found guilty Sept. 16 of unlawful license plates/registration and was sentenced to $245 in fines and costs.

– Connor Michael Smethers, 22, of 1537 Hidden Creek Circle Dr., Grand Rapids, was found guilty Sept. 17 of hunting/fishing without a license and was sentenced to $325 in fines and costs.

– Vincent Michael Camargo, 30, of 607 S. Water St., Hart, was found guilty Sept. 8 of assault and battery and was sentenced to six months probation; must submit to testing, searches and counseling as directed by probation officer; not to use or possess any drug that isn’t prescribed; no alcohol; no assaultive behavior; and $1,025 in fines and costs. One count of fourth-degree child abuse was dismissed.

– Francisco Delose Vasquez, 20, of 1533 B. 72nd Ave., Hart, was found guilty Sept. 16 of driving while license suspended (DWLS) and was sentenced to $400 in fines and costs. Conviction reportable to SOS.

– Christopher Scott Arvey, 36, of 430 Lakeshore Blvd., Fruitport, was found guilty Sept. 17 of allowing a person to drive in violation and was sentenced to two days in jail with credit for two days served and $340 in fines and costs. One count of DWLS was dismissed.

– Lou Arthur Berge, 29, of 1765 N. Peterson Rd., Muskegon, was found guilty Sept. 16 of transporting open intoxicants and was sentenced to $345 in fines and costs. Conviction reportable to SOS.

-Paul Allen Berger, 51, of 3656 N. Railroad Ave., Pentwater, was found guilty Sept. 8 of allowing a person to drive in violation and was sentenced to 90 days suspended jail with credit for one day served and $150 in fines and costs. One count of DWLS was dismissed.

-William James-Dowel Browning, 18, of 1473 Prestwick Lane, Caramel, Indiana, was found guilty Sept. 3 of driving while license not valid and “paid civil infraction as agreed,” court records state.

– Drew Daniel Buozis, 24, of 520 E. Main St., Hart, was found guilty Aug. 3 of operating while intoxicated and was sentenced Sept. 8 to 93 days suspended jail with credit for one day served; outpatient treatment; and $1,240 in fines and costs. Conviction reportable to SOS.

– Benjamin Patrick Byers, 23, of 7932 Westside Dr., Hudsonville, Michigan, was found guilty Sept. 14 of operating with a high blood alcohol content (BAC) and was sentenced to one year suspended jail; outpatient treatment; and $1,265 in fines and costs. Conviction reportable to SOS.

– Jose Alfredo Cintura, Jr., 25, of 7390 N. 160th Ave., Walkerville, was found guilty Sept. 8 of operating while impaired and was sentenced to 93 days suspended jail with credit for two days served; Alcohol Highway Safety Education (AHSE); and $1,090 in fines and costs. Conviction reportable to SOS.

– Shaunna Lynn Freeman, 19, of 407 Church St., Hart, was found guilty Sept. 8 of attempted assaulting/resisting/obstructing police and was sentenced to one year suspended jail with credit for one day served and $450 in fines and costs. One count of assaulting/resisting/obstructing police was dismissed.

– Matthew Luke Haack, 23, of 10330 N. River Dr., Fremont, was found guilty Sept. 16 of unlawful license plates and was sentenced to one day in jail with credit for one day served and $300 in fines and costs. One count of operating without insurance was dismissed.

– Clarissa Mary Hubert, 22, of 1537 Hidden Creek Circle Dr., Grand Rapids, was found guilty Sept. 17 of hunting/fishing without a license and was sentenced to $325 in fines and costs.

– Jack Henry Kittel, 39, of 514 Dryden St., Hart, was found guilty Sept. 16 of operating an ORV on public land and was sentenced to $275 in fines and costs.

-Niko Kola, 23, of 6561 Torybrooke Circle, West Bloomfield, Michigan, was found guilty Sept. 16 of operating an ORV in a closed area and was sentenced to $125 in fines and costs.

– Matthew Edward Kovach, 22, of 4552 Racewood Dr., Commerce Township, Michigan, was found guilty Sept. 14 of operating while impaired and was sentenced to 93 days suspended jail with credit for two days served; AHSE; and $1,105 in fines and costs. One count of operating while intoxicated was dismissed. Conviction reportable to SOS.

– Hector Mendieta-Salinas, 17, of 288 Maple St., Shelby, was found guilty Sept. 8 of operating while impaired and was sentenced to 93 days suspended jail with credit for one day served; outpatient treatment; and $1,105 in fines and costs. Conviction reportable to SOS.

– Wyatt Joseph Martin, 19, of 3993 S. Wright Rd., Westphalia, Michigan, was found guilty of operating an ORV at an unreasonable speed and was sentenced to $325 in fines and costs.

– Alexander Scott Payne, 24, of 1419 W. Jackson Rd., Hart, was found guilty Sept. 16 of operating an ORV on a highway or right-of-way and operating an ORV at an unreasonable speed and was sentenced to one day in jail with credit for one day served and $350 in fines and costs. Charges of fleeing and eluding on an ORV and operating an ORV while license suspended were dismissed.

– Mark Allen Peets, 57, of 8363 Grant St., Montague, was found guilty Sept. 14 of operating while impaired and was sentenced to 93 days suspended jail with credit for one day served; AHSE; and $1,055 in fines and costs. Conviction reportable to SOS. Charges of operating while intoxicated and operating without insurance were dismissed.

– Erik Fabian Quintero-Garcia, 27, of 7017 S. 88th Ave., Rothbury, was found guilty Sept. 14 of operating while intoxicated and was sentenced to 93 days suspended jail with credit for one day served; AHSE; and $1,190 in fines and costs. Conviction reportable to SOS. One count of operating with high BAC was dismissed.

– Jehud Edreih-Deleon, Ramirez, 19, of 1968 E. Fountain Rd., Free Soil, was found guilty Sept. 14 of operating without insurance and was sentenced to $250 in fines and costs.

– Jacob Charles Ripmaster, 22, of 1023 Oshtemo Tr., Kalamazoo, was found guilty Sept. 16 of hunting/fishing without a license and was sentenced to $325 in fines and costs.

Dismissals

– Willie Lee Allen, 61, of 1240 N. 198th Ave., Hesperia, one count of domestic violence was dismissed Sept. 8.

– Gregory James Melchor, 34, of 1908 N. 48th Ave., Mears, one count of DWLS was dismissed Sept. 8.
