442 COVID-19 cases in Oceana, including 6 deaths and 281 recoveries.

According to data released by District Health Department #10 Saturday Aug. 1, Oceana County has 442 confirmed cases of COVID-19, including 281 recoveries and six deaths.

Recovered cases are “based on whether individuals are still alive 30 days past the confirmed date,” states DHD #10.

Oceana County has the highest number of cases in the health department’s 10-county jurisdiction, which also includes Crawford, Kalkaska, Lake, Manistee, Mason, Mecosta, Missaukee, Newaygo and Wexford counties.

Neighboring Newaygo County has the second-highest total with 238 confirmed cases, including 167 recovered cases and no deaths, according to DHD #10. Mason County totals 86 cases with 47 recoveries and zero deaths.

Muskegon County has 1,060 positive cases with 55 deaths and 761 recoveries, according to the Muskegon County Health Department’s most recent data.

According to DHD #10 data, Michigan totals 82,356 positive cases with 6,206 deaths.
